It happens all the time in heaven
(Translated in English, by Daniel Ladinsky)
‘It happens all the time in heaven, and some day,
It will begin to happen AGAIN on earth.
That men and women who are married.
And Men and #Men who are lovers.
And #Women and Women who give each other #light,
Often will get down on their knees and while so tenderly holding their lovers #hand, with tears in their #eyes, will sincerely speak; saying,
“My #dear, how can I be more #loving to you; how can I be more kind”
Blog:
This poem is #PROOF that even among the great Sufi #poets, there was support & #respect for same sex, #LOVE & #MARRIAGE
After all, It happens all the time, In #heaven.
I don’t believe I ever formally announced that I was bisexual. I just loved, the way I loved. Gender unimportant, connection the focus.
I will say that in the hardest times of my life, my gay friends kept me the safest.
If I was with them, no matter what someone put in my drink or did to me, they kept me safe. I could be myself. #Sing, #dance, #eat and #laugh. They helped me feel free and safe. We could go dancing and even though I was underaged, at the gay bar, I could #kiss women, dance and be happy. No judgement. My gay friend dated a man who owned a limo company at one point, so he used to drive us around. One of my other gay friends would dance with me, ballroom style, and people thought we were a professional dancing couple.
This was mostly around the age of 17. In 2003. I had already lived through absolute hell and they gave me a safe place to handle it, no matter how messy.
Some of the most fun nights of my life are thanks to them.
From singing Aerosmith in the limo, to dancing to Marvin Gaye in a Dennys, I will always be grateful for them. (Not the Dennys I worked at in Rockport)
One night I went to see one of
My gay friends in Portland, I was also about 17, and his roommate was a woman, going out for a bachelor party. I went too. We went to the strip club and I saw this beautiful woman drop from the top of the pole to the bottom, I found it absolutely stunning. After that we went to a place where everyone was dancing. #Salsa! I danced with a man in the middle of the floor and had a blast! I have no idea if he was straight or gay, it just was one of the most fun nights of my life.
Also important to mention is when I was 16 & 17 going to visit my friend, whose family I stayed with for a little while, in Boston.
We also would go dancing and I would have a blast! I would buy a few cigars, go to a club and have some tequila, dance and laugh. People at the club we went to were very respectful of us. I felt safe. It was also amazing.
I think the topic of conversation needs to be about society as a whole. No matter someone’s age or status; everyone deserves to be protected and safe no matter what.
I have a special place in my heart for gay men. They absolutely kept me safe and let me be myself.
I like to say that anyone who thinks that gay men are not in heaven, are insane!
If you think that heaven is not filled with LGBQT people, you are crazy and mistaken.
In fact, I think each person who believes that, god/allah/shiva will appoint an LGBQT person to bring them to hell. Then they will wave goodbye and toss some glitter at them, getting back in the elevator and coming back to heaven where we will live peacefully. LGBTQ
and all.
After all,
It happens all the time in heaven.
Happy Pride! Be you!
